East Africa has a great variety of hotels, lodges, tented camps, hosted and self catered accommodation, to suit most tastes, budgets and individual travel requirements and plans, both in the towns and out in the country.
We show here those that we recommend and use when putting together itineraries for our clients.
You can search for accommodation by name, type and location using the search panel at the top of this page. Please do ask us if you would like information on any particular place not shown here.
Where rates shown, they are a guide, based on the rate per person sharing a double room, in standard accommodation. This rate may vary at certain times of year, and additional supplements are often required at festive periods.
The meal plan differs with the various types of accommodation. This will naturally affect the rate bracket.
Town hotels are generally bed only or bed and breakfast. Beach hotels vary from bed and breakfast through to all inclusive. Lodges and tented camps are full board, and many have an option for a package that includes game drives. Homestays often include drinks and activities, whilst self catered accommodation requires you to provide your own food and drink. Please look at the individual lodge or hotel description to see the relevant meal plan.
Child rates are usually 50% of the per person adult rate when sharing with two adults, and 75% when sharing their own room, and apply to children between 2 and 11 years inclusive. Some lodges and hotels have reduced rates for teenagers. However this does not apply to all venues and there maybe different age brackets and costs. Some hotels and lodges are not suitable for young children or have a minimum age requirement. Please check when booking.
These are generally not included in the hotels rates.
Recommendations are safaris and holidays that we have found to be popular and of good quality and value. Special offers are just that! Lower than normal rates, usually for a short period.
