2014 was a good year for ULGT, having added more accolades in our ever growing desk of awards such as the South African Airways Awards – Best Preforming Agent in Revenue! Our highlight of the year however, was winning the 2014 Eco Warrior Award – Enterprise of the year (Tours & Travel).
This Eco Award symbolised that we were definitely on the right track to promote responsible tourism in Kenya and that come 2015 we will put more effort in promoting responsible tourism and enhancing tourism sustainability within our communities, directly or indirectly.
Corporate Social Responsibility
This year also saw our CSR teams move a notch higher with more projects being undertaken:
Education Project – Where we and partner organisations such as Kings Oak Academy, Bristol, UK helped in the construction of a computer lab, washrooms for boys and girls and a classroom at Kalalu School in Laikipia, a beneficiary of our travels’ philanthropy program and even later donated computers to be used in their lab!
Livelihood Project – Where we support homes such as the Limuru Children’s Center, The centre takes care of orphaned and vulnerable children from Limuru area and supports more than 400 needy children. It is also a rescue centre for abused children.
Body of Christ Children’s Home – Where we donate clothes, food stuffs and goodies for the kids, with at least three visits by our staff.
