Isiolo is an interesting little frontier town, not far from but very different to the rest of the towns around Mount Kenya.

Isiolo is at the end of a tarmac road heading north which shortly enters Samburu country. There is a busy cattle, goat and camel market, and a fresh fruit and vegetable market. It is the last place with good facilities such as fuel and banks before traveling north into Samburu country and on north up to Lake Turkana.
