Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Lake Manyara

Rhino in Ngorongoro Crater

This safari visits Lake Manyara National Park with its spectacular birdlife, Ngorongoro Crater where wildlife abounds and is viewed against the magnificent backdrop of the Crater walls, and the Serengeti, arguably one of the best known wildlife sanctuaries in the world, where rivers cross the landscape of endless savannah, acacia bush and forest and small dramatic outcrops of rock, 'kopjes', dot the plains.

  • After lunch in Arusha you drive to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Hotel.
  • Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The Lake lies at the foot of the dramatic escarpment of the Rift Valley's western wall and is famous for its birdlife and tree-climbing lions. After breakfast at your hotel you depart with a picnic lunch for the Serengeti for dinner and overnight at a safari lodge.
  • A full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. The vast plains and rocky kopjes are home to an astonishing concentration of predators, plains game and birdlife. Meals and overnight at your safari lodge.
  • An early morning game drive is followed by breakfast at your lodge before departing with a picnic lunch for a further game drive enroute to Olduvai Gorge - the 'Cradle of Mankind'. Here very early human remains dating back 3.5 million years were found and in the different stratas of rock of varying ages many fascinating fossils have been discovered, including that of a monster giraffe! Your journey continues to Ngorongoro Crater arriving in time for dinner and overnight at your lodge set on the Crater rim with spectacular views over the plains below.
  • A full day's game viewing on the Crater floor with a picnic lunch. The wildlife is prolific and shares the base of this collapsed volcano with Masai tribesmen and their herds of cattle. Dinner and overnight at your lodge on the Crater rim.
  • You leave after breakfast and on arrival in Arusha you have lunch. End of safari.
