Meal Plan Full Board

Il Ngwesi Lodge is the epitome of safari accommodation in the area, is perfectly nestled on a rocky outcrop in an area set aside by the group ranch for wildlife conservation. Made out of local materials, it is well known for its spectacular "open to the bush" design with stunning views in all directions.
It offers two communal areas, one at the top of the hill, with an infinity pool dropping away into the wilderness and a second in the front of the lodge overlooking the waterhole where wildlife is seen quenching their thirst whilst affording guests perfect scenery. Both have covered areas for escaping the heat of the day & open areas allowing guests to dine under the stars.

The accommodation comprises of six elegantly appointed bandas, where five have single and double beds. The honeymoon suite and one other offer the unique opportunity to experience a night under the stars as they have large double beds with a raised platform on which beds can be rolled out. Those visiting as a group have the honour of sharing two rooms skillfully joined by a bridge. Built on a slope, the fronts of the bandas are on stilts, giving guests in all rooms unforgettable views of the vast surrounding panorama. Staying at the lodge is truly special as visitors get a real taste of the bush whilst enjoying some home comforts whilst looked after by their impeccable Masai hosts.

The more than a decade old Il Ngwesi group ranch has been driven by a vision to integrate community development & sustainable environmental management. The core ideal is to use environment as a means to improve the livelihood of the people through eco-friendly activities that conserve wildlife & its habitat & uphold the Masai culture.

This drive led the community to set aside 80% of its land for conservation activities in which this eco-lodge was set up on a rocky outcrop. The income from the venture supports community projects of education, water, health infrastructure, environmental conservation & preservation of culture which are directed at achieving our mission of improving livelihoods of our community members.Over the last decade, the number of wildlife has increased considerably compared to early 90’s when poaching had decimated almost all the wildlife in this area especially the African elephant & rhinoceros. Today, as a result of improved security, plenty of wildlife is viewed within the Il Ngwesi group ranch.

From Il Ngewesi you can take guided walks, visit a local cultural Manyatta, go on game drives and picnics, or relax at the lodge by the swimming pool or watch animals come into the water hole.
