Lake Naivasha Country Club
Location Lake Naivasha Area
Meal Plan Full Board
Lake Naivasha Country Club is situated on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha and was once the gateway to Kenya when the British Overseas Airways flying boats used to land there following the Nile south. The public areas are in a single storey building with a long, shady verandah along the front. The lounge is cosy and comfortable with a magnificent fireplace and the dining room light and airy at one end of the spacious verandah. Lunch most days is al fresco, beneath the shade of magnificent acacia and pepper trees and drinks in the evening before dinner are beside a roaring log fire in the resident's lounge. The bar is colourful and welcoming. The 51 rooms are in one-storey wings and cottages spread through the magnificent and colourful gardens.

Comments
Sub-standard and needing attention!
“Hi Vanessa,
We had a good trip to Kenya. I was most impressed by the Kenya people – very friendly and welcoming. The only glitch as far as I am concerned is that Lake Naivasha Country Club is not up to standard as regards the accommodation or food. That part of our stay was rescued by the very good hotel staff and grounds with wildlife grazing on the lawns and a nice boat trip on the Lake. But the rooms are dark, fairly dingy, with substandard bathrooms and furnishing – especially the beds! They were as hard as planks! And my geyser made a noise all night long. Also the food is no more than SA country 2 Star hotel if you ask me. Very historic and all that but they need to revamp the rooms and menus.
Lets Go Travel provided a very nice driver and the vehicle was fine. Otherwise Treetops was very special and Mara Intrepids was excellent!
Regards,
James
