Manta Reef lies at the northwestern tip of Pemba Island (Tanzania), looking straight across the Pemba Channel towards the Shimoni area of Kenya, some 50 km away. The lodge consists of an open-plan bar and dining area, with 15 tile-roofed, en suite chalets built into a grassy hillside slightly above sea level and furnished in the attractive "Zanzibar" style. The chalets have electric lights and fans, but not air conditioners. Each chalet has a balcony looking out over the ocean.
