Helping you choose your Safari or Holiday

Planning a holiday in a country that is foreign to you can be exciting, but daunting, or maybe you know East Africa but would like to experience something new. We are here to help you.

Safari means a Journey in Swahili. There are many different ways of “going on Safari”. One that combines wildlife viewing in National Parks, Reserves and Conservancies with  comfortable living, either in lodges or in sophisticated tented camps.  There are adventure and activity orientated safaris; ranging from nature walks, animal tracking, walking safaris of a few days, to mountain climbing, trekking to see the gorillas, walking with camels into remote areas. Or specialist safaris based around culture, ornithology or golf. On the coast; snorkelling, scuba diving, kite surfing and deep sea fishing. A safari may be an educational trip for a school or university group, experiencing work with local schools and communities, or visiting geological features. Travelling on safari can be in customised 4x4 vehicles, or perhaps flying, using domestic scheduled flights or private charter aircraft,  or combinations of flying and road transport.

The safaris listed within this website are representative of the best of East Africa's attractions which may be seen within a limited time frame and at an affordable price. Safaris mostly take visitors on a tour, with one to three nights in each location, but we can be arrange any duration and  different routes. Some safaris have proved to be the most popular over time, and we also have those that we recommend.

Adventure and activity orientated safaris are not all shown here. Should you wish to do something different, please tell us what you are interested in, and we will be delighted to offer our knowledge and experience to help you put a fantastic safari or holiday together.

Certain safaris have a Budget rate, as well as the standard option. These safaris offer the choice of staying in less expensive accommodation, otherwise the safari itinerary remains the same. Accommodation ranges from inexpensive to lavish, allowing safaris to be tailored to suit differing tastes and pockets. The enormous diversity of East Africa allows for many different options and combinations.

The dream of a safari is usually synonymous with game viewing. The best times of day for seeing and being able to watch the wild animals are in the cool hours of the early morning and late afternoon when the wildlife is most active. The usual routine on safari will therefore be to rise early for a game drive, returning for a late breakfast, relax at your camp or lodge through the heat of the day, and then enjoy a late afternoon/evening drive to watch the wildlife and scenery until dusk. In some locations visits to local cultural attractions can take place during the day.

Driving around after dark is not permitted in the National Parks and Reserves, but night game drives, when you have a chance to see some of the nocturnal animals, can be arranged in some of the private Conservancies.

Unless specified safaris in Kenya start and end in Nairobi. Those in Uganda from Kampala and in Tanzania from Arusha.

For more than 35 years, Uniglobe Lets Go Travel has been designing safaris in East Africa; Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Rwanda,  that fullfill the ideas and aspirations of our clients and, based on our experience, are both practical and rewarding. We believe in sustainable and responsible tourism, that is of benefit to the communities and environment.
