Sipi Falls
-
Late morning departure from Kampala heading for eastern Uganda, Mount Elgon. Mount Elgon is a 4,321m high extinct volcano which in prehistoric times stood taller than Kilimanjaro. In the foothills of Mount Elgon is where the Sipi Falls are found, three beautiful falls. Stop over in Mbale town, a lively bustling market town which is the capital of Bugisu land and has architecture reminiscent of the colonial area. Dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge.
-
After enjoying a late breakfast while feasting on a magnificent view, go abseiling. This is a unique and thrilling way for visitors to be able to view the Sipi falls while going down the edge of a 100 metre cliff using a rope which is threaded through a metal loop drilled into the rock above the waterfall and tied onto a harness placed around your waist. This gives you a wonderful view into the valley below and the opportunity to see the falls up-close. Have a quiet afternoon, relaxing after lunch. Dinner and overnight at Lacam Lodge.
-
In the morning, take a walk to the base of the falls and relax while taking a dip in the cool water of the falls. After lunch, leave for Kampala.

Rift Valley Lakes
-
You leave Nairobi in the morning and drive down the escarpment to the Rift Valley floor, past Lakes Naivasha, Elementaita and Nakuru to Lake Baringo arriving in time for lunch, the afternoon at leisure, dinner and overnight at a lakeshore hotel. Hippo and crocodile abound in this fresh water lake but most visitors are entranced by the multitude of birds with over 400 species having been identified. A boat ride on the lake to view the birdlife can be arranged at your hotel.
-
An early morning bird walk is possible and after breakfast you depart for nearby Lake Bogoria. This soda lake, with its shores of hot springs, boiling geysers and steam jets, stark evidence of the volcanic origins of the Rift Valley, lies hidden behind ridge after ridge of barren stony scrubland. Although primarily scenic, Bogoria is by no means devoid of wildlife and birds are plentiful. You later continue your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch at a lodge followed by an afternoon game drive in the Park, famous for its concentration of often more than a million pink flamingo which seasonally feed on the abundant algae which thrive in its shallow, warm waters. Dinner and overnight are at either Lake Nakuru, Lake Elementaita or Lake Naivasha.
