Thomsons Fall Lodge
Thomson’s Falls Lodge is situated at the world famous Thomson’s Falls discovered in 1883 by Joseph Thomson, a Scottish geologist and naturalist. The Ewaso Narok River drops a sheer 243 feet over a ledge of volcanic rock, to create these magnificent falls, located in the southern west corner of Laikipia, at the northern foot of the Aberdare range.
The Lodge is situated at 7,800 feet, is surrounded by 10 acres of lawns, shaded with African olive and cedar trees. Built in the early 1930’s by English settlers, the original cottages still stand. It is an ideal overnight stop for travelers moving between Samburu and the Great Rift Valley.
The lodge has 32 single, double and triple rooms, on bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis. All rooms have open log fire places and en-suite bathrooms. Some rooms also have private verandahs. A beautiful campsite, offers accommodation to overland travelers. The lodge also offers conference facilities at competitive rates.
The Lake Victoria Serena Resort
Styled to replicate the lines of a classically rustic Roman villa, which might just as easily stand amid the sunflowers of the Tuscan Hills, as on the shores of Africa's largest lake, Lake Victoria Serena Resort is the latest addition to the Serena East Africa Portfolio.
Rising above white-terraced rose gardens, which descend through water cascades and fountains almost to the shores of Lake Victoria, is a gracious terracotta and cream palace, the central citadel encircled by café and cocktail terraces, where cushioned sofas invite relaxation. Beyond the mosaic frescoes of the main restaurant, a clocktower rises above the pool-deck where colonnades of white arches offer the perfect frame for the hazy blue of the lake and the encircling green of the Lweza Hills. Widely spaced amongst the rose gardens, clusters of pastel-painted villas offer a choice of rooms and suites, all with panoramic lake views.
The hotel offers a wide range of dining choices; The Citadel all-day brasserie offers extensive buffet breakfast and lunch choices while the a la carte evening menu features both an international selection and the Chef's own array of typically Mediterranean cuisine. A wide selection of snacks can be enjoyed, either on the extensive Lake View Pool Terrace, in the Courtyard Lounge or on the Piano Bar Terrace.
Adjacent to the pool deck, the Maisha Mind Body and Spirit Spa contrasts the gleaming state-of-the-art technology of its gymnasium and cardio studio with the terracotta floors and rustic arches of the Spa.

Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort
The Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort borrows its name from the stunning land it sits on. The Great Rift Valley is one of the greatest natural structures on earth, visible from outer space, stretching 5,500 kilometers, spanning two continents from Jordan in the Middle East, through Kenya in East Africa to Mozambique in Africa.
Every view from the room shows a facet of the Valley’s dynamic vistas. Built around an 18-hole golf course, the lodge is leisurely set on a wide expanse of the massif .
The Rift’s rooms are spacious with a lounge and fireplace and private balconies overlooking the Aberdares, the Kinangop plateau lying a tier below the Aberdares and the plains of Eburru littered with black obsidian stone telling its volcanic past. You can choose between twin beds or a double bed.
The mountain’s slopes full of indigenous plants attract an assortment of birds, which makes for bird watching from the comfort of your private balcony fun – and at night, looking out for constellations of stars and planets in the celestial skies exciting. Above the lodge the main club house offers one of Africas most beautiful dinning experiences, with superb cuisine.
